As nobody seems to have any spares I will be getting some castle nuts made up & see if the truck wreckers have any rear drum nuts off an old truck of some description to suit. As nobody has responded with spares would anyone need some if I find/make some???

Are you meaning the 1 1/2" (across the flats) wheel nuts? if so they are found on ford tractors , GMC, Chevy cargo, Dodge (ww2) and of course many old Fords. You should be able to still buy them from a Ford dealer, in right hand thread only. The ww2 vehicles used them in both threads.
Your brake drums ,brakes, and backing plates are special to the carrier, the rest is 1942 Ford 3 ton truck, as is your hub seal. Cheers, Lynn.

Thanks Lynn, have (hopefully) found seals, nuts & a running motor to boot. As a matter of intrest a US white scout car has the same diff, nuts, seals, etc as a carrier. But I did not raid my scout car to feed the carrier, got to keep the runners going.
Anyone who needs road wheel castle nuts get your order in now, my offsider from work's dad has a full engineering shop where he makes all sorts of odd-bods (made the titanium contersunk screws for the collins class submarine instrument panels!!!) & he is making some road wheel nuts for me. These are an odd-ball 14 threads per inch size, I am getting extras made for those who need some later but if you want some say so now. He is tooling up next week & for anyone who wants some he drinks VB lager & I'm already buying the hex rod. Don't get cheeper than that. Rob |
