Can anyone ident if this windshield assembly is correct for the production model year, looks like 1942, with square roof hatch, or is this a modification, ( by pervious owner or military mod ) wondering if this is a cold weather mod, non opening outward windows ?

It looks remarkably like a Chev.

No matter whether Ford or Chev, I haven't seen that type of windshield before - not saying it couldn't be an officially sanctioned mod, just not seen either as production or modification.

It is interesting and something I would not change until I found out for sure that it wasn't military. The Canadian military was still using some CMPs into the early 1960s so you never know, you might have something unique to the vehicle range.

What is the pin assembly dead centre front bumper all about?
Looks like something to lock a tow ring into to push a trailer around in front of you, or a tow bar for an aircraft, perhaps. David |

Jogged my memory of this puddle jumper near Omaka airfield 3 years ago.

I wondering if this body type shows up near an airfield in New Zealand, could it be possible this model was used on airfields as a tow tug for aircraft movement, basing this on the front bumper with pin for hooking up Lunette eye. The Ford 13 Cab in my earlier posting is located north of Vancouver BC.
I am inclined to believe this is factory, can not see two trucks having the same mod, in two different parts of the world, both look factory built.

With the huge numbers of these vehicles globally postwar, more likely a conversion kit created by a third party vendor.

That’s more likely. It was not a factory conversion for sure.

Skinning over the windscreen frame and cutting window holes, then simple glazing is as easy as it gets. This is a common repair that as Tony said early on, is a post war standard "farm" truck fix.
I have owned a truck repaired like this.
