Default Distributor drive dog for English Ford V8

I am looking to put an English distributor on a flathead v8.
I believe there is a drive dog that goes between the camshaft and the distributor. Firstly, is this correct?
Secondly, Can someone supply one?. If not, can someone put up a photo of one?
Lastly, does anyone know of a source for parts,(dist cap, rotor, points etc.
Thanks in advance.

You can see a picture of a Lucas Distributor on this thread.

The drive dog should be permanently attached to the Distributor.

The complete Distributors over here sale for approximately £50.00. Points and roator arms are freely available but I don't have any dealer details at work.

Hi Lynn

Amongst my collection of stuff I have 2 other types of distributors, not shure, which one you're talking about. But here are 2 photos of the different types I've got.

Greetings
Max

Default Lucas

I've always been told that the worst possible of all worlds is a British vehicle with Lucas electricals.

Lots_of_Useless_Crap_And_Solder (LUCAS).

Surely you can Buy Better than British!

Default Lucas versus Ford

this is probably like thowing a spanner at a wasp nest, but I,ve been told that the British (Lucas?) distributor is a better distributor than the Ford units.
