Default 2 - CMP's in Enderby, B.C.

Not knowing anything about CMP's (I like my GPW better) I have never bothered to look for them until now.

Lats week I was doing a delivery to a saw mill & as i drove in I scanned the acres of old trucks the guy has sitting in the bush.
Not far from the road I spotted 2 CMP's.
Heres some pictures I took with my cell phone camera.
He is away for the winter, but when he gets back I will inquire as to if he will sell them.

On a side note:
Later I found out that another of our drivers bought a 1950's US Army bus from him a few years ago. It had been at the base in Yakima & was for exac. in case of a nucular attack. It only had 13,000 miles on it. Since our driver bought it , he has converted it into a motor home.

I also remember seeing a complete CMP on the west side of Hwy 97 in Westwold?

First truck.
both doors are there as well as the drivers seat frame.
Gauges & data plates are missing
Flat Head V-8 & all running gear still there & complete
has a flat deck on it but has very min rust
Has some flat bar welded from the fenders to roof (bush/log gaurds)
Last licensed in 1965

Second truck
Flat head V-8 & running gear all there
both seat frames
all data plates
all gauges
missing pass door , but it may be in the pile of junk around it.
flat deck

Your description sounds interesting but PhotoBucket seems to have swallowed your photos, I hope you can still access them to try posting them direct to the forum rather than as links.

They're there now - perhaps there was a delay between the upload and being accessible.

I see the first one has the elusive horn too. Some great parts there for you Canucks!

Anything is restorable, of course... you only have to look at the warbird market where a data plate and a few bits and pieces go into some new Spitfires for instance.
I was making an obscure reference to the relative number of good CMPs which are still being discovered here compared with Canada...

Actually they didn't look too bad but the amount of moss on the first one might mean a rust problem hiding there.

Default Restorable?

Probably, almost for sure if you want to go the 2 into 1 route. And I don't mean in the vein of I have an original bolt, let's work out from there and call it a restoration rather than a recreation.....
You may think we go into a lot of trouble fixing up trucks that the tinworm has gotten into, on the other hand we seem to have fewer nasty creatures waiting to take a nip of us. Which way do you want to lose?

Good point Grant - it's easier to patch up some rust than suffer a bite from a redback, scorpion or one of our many venomous snakes.
