Could be a No8 gun tractor rear door panel, although they should have the same locating pieces as standard doors so perhaps not.

Although it look like the same construction as post war side curtains, if it was No8 rear door shouldn’t it have a lift up flap for access to door latch?

Rod,
I see it has the military stock number stenciled on, from the 6MT13 group, which relates canvas and similar items. The vocab catalogues for LV6MT numbers are a mine of info, I have most of the British ones and I have seen quite a few of the Australian versions at the Corowa swapmeet, if anyone has a copy, it might give a description of this item. regards, Richard

Gents thanks much for the input. Trust you enjoyed your short break with the better half Keith. Richard that would be a handy document to access as you say. The chap who has this panel has a few more of the same I believe which could be quite useful to somebody if the origin is proven. We shall wait and see what turns up. Thanks again.... Rod
PS....almost forgot, here is a pic of the other side with the Dad and Dave marking! |

I don't think it fits any standard CMP door as they all (apart from the lightweight versions) use a cranked insert with butterfly nut.
And the break was good even if we didn't get out of the local area.
