The attached photo shows a 1940-1941 Chev C60 No.12 Cab with an early style steel body, that I have seen in WW2 era photos very occasionally.
There's not much I know about the rear body except that it is quite early as it still replicates the British Army rounded wheel arch, that the same body was fitted to both Chev and Fords, and that it was fitted to Fords 100,000th military vehicle (as shown in a photo from the late Bill Gregg). The length of the rear body makes it look like a C30 but I'm told it was a 3 tonner. I guess the standard tyres for such a production vehicle were 10.50x16 or perhaps 10.200x16. Its hard to know with preserved CMPs. This vehicle was fully restored about three or four years ago and sold off Milweb in 2017. It now resides in Norfolk, UK. Any further info greatly appreciated.
