Who can identify to which vehicle part no “C29Q-1860052 Cushion Seat” fitted? Note it is not a regular CMP seat cushion.

That looks like a very good candidate, Mariano.
Do these seats have lift-the-dot studs on the rear?

I was thinking it might be a cushion from an armoured car....or maybe a radio or medical body fitting, but so far I only found pictures of the "normal" CMP seats....not this "low back" version. So, I think Mariano might be on the money.......that they are for the late style FAT body.
Mariano, did the Argentine army replace the spring backs with steel plates as well? Or was this a factory fitting for the late style body? Hanno handed me one of the cushions and it has a rusty imprint of the springs on the back.

I always see the FAT-5 7B3 body as closely related to the 6x6 FAT prototype.....and indeed the 6x6 prototype also seems to have been fitted with these low back seats (back compartment only, fronts are "normal" CMP seats).
Bit difficult to see, but It seems in the picture attached only the outside 2 seats have been fitted with cushions on the back rest, while the two in the centre seem to show the steel plates as also shown in Mariano's picture. picture from the RCEME website

Please see attached images.
I suspect that the “one” in the part number should actually be a “seven”. I also suspect that the tag shows an incorrect part number/description for this cushion. C29Q 7860052 should be a cushion for the base of the seat which fits the standard CMP seat pans, whereas this cushion appears to be for a seat back like Mariano has suggested. Colin |

Thanks for that, Alex and Colin.
Colin, you’re right about the 1 being a 7. The label was handwritten by someone in Belgium (or The Netherlands) as the last line states “volledig” which means complete. The label may have been mixed up, I can check with the dealer who’s clearing this out. I am confident we have established what the are. Next question: “gun tractor chassis with full metal cab on India units”? Were these regular FATs?
