Default Seat back cushion/pads

I pulled apart one of my original seats to see what was used for the seat back cushion. I believe the thin fabric is original but I am not so sure on the foam pad.

We’re the original seat back pads done with the horse hair like the seat bottoms?

Jordan,

I will attempt to find appropriate reference material, but I believe that early seat cushions used foam, then they transitioned to horse-hair pads.

I have seen other examples of seriously degraded foam in seat pads.

For your consideration,

Thanks. I believe this to be an early seat as it uses the early Cab11/12 seat sliders. So perhaps the rubber is original.

Anyone have any pictures/samples of an original horsehair seat back cushion?

I was thinking “no foam, horse hair pad” - thanks for educating me, Colin!
