Hi guys, I am looking for a modern interchange part number for the old Wagner Lockheed part number FC 5976C which is the boot from a CMP (eg. F30) 1 1/2" wheel cylinder.
A Raybestos, Repco, or PBR number is fine. I'd like to be able to order locally, rather than importing, If I can. Thanks in advance

Hi
The wheel cylinder you are looking for were used on Chevy CMPs as well, so if you have can find cylinders that can be sleeved it may be a far better choice than replacing the existing cylinders with NOS or new manufacture. I went over to sleeving my old cylinders after having to replace new ones which had pitted after 5 years. That was 30 years ago and the cylinders have never had to be redone since, just did a rubber cup replacement on recently on my C60S which as the same Ford cylinders you are talking about, turns doing a brake rebuild from replacing wheel cylinders or having to hone out the pits to replacing the rubber parts. Not bad for 25 years. I suspect that you are going to find sleeving is more cost effective than ordering cylinders out of the US or Canada. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil, Yes that is the plan to sleeve the old ones if that is what's needed.
Funnily enough, this vehicle was used as a trailer after WWII. the pipes were broken off, but were clogged with dirt. When I pulled the brakes apart, the pistons pushed out. I was amazed. I will run a hone through the cylinders to find out how bad they are, and if need be, I will have them sleeved. I do still need the part numbers. It's no good having sleeved cylinders with no boots or cups. I thought there were G.M. part numbers for these Ford bits, but I only seem to be able to find the Ford numbers. Cylinder assy 91T-2192 Boot 1 1/2" 91T-2206 Cup 1 1/2" 91T-2201 What are the modern alternative numbers please?

1-1/2 bore=Raybestos WK104 (fits WC4511)
1-3/8 bore-Raybestos WK103 (fits WC4571) For NAPA rebuild kits, just drop the WK. NAPA Canada retails at around $27 per kit. I can get the complete wheel cylinders out of the US for around $10 more. But there is merit to what Phil says about sleeving then only ever having to replace the rubber parts. The low Chinese supplied prices will not last forever. |

Hi Lynn,
Here in Australia, ABS Part No. A725 are the rear 1-1/2" cups. I bought them off the shelf from local brake shop two years ago. They were also listed as IBS Brake parts P725E on the package. Cheers, Jacques
