Just bringing my question to the forum from the Facebook posting.
Is there a primary source for this "air portable" modification? Because if you ever had to fix a fuel pump the removal of that corner would be handy or conversely removing the left front and hood without removing the right front with the floor plate around the pedals sure would be easier and quicker I just don't see how taking off that corner would help. Any pictures of loading? I think like the modification to the floor plate this could have been a late war mod to ease maintenance. |

Here is some info: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=24697
I have not been able to find photos of loading the C60L APT, but the removal of the right-hand cab corner makes it possible (just) the turn left into the Dakota fuselage.
