Default 6 pounder restoration

Gents, I'm currently restoring a 6 pdr anti tank gun, I want to ask if anyone has ever split the trailing arms before and removed from the axle assembly?, there is a flanged nut, item 32 in the attachéd picture, held in place by 3 locking grub screws, has anyone removed this before?, mine will rotate only about half an inch then it's stuck fast, I could apply lots of heat but wanted to ask first.

Thanks in advance Kevin.

Default let me know how it goes

Hi Kevin, I'm up to that part also. Have been procrastinating for a month or more. I would assume that it may need plenty of penetrating oil as its a pretty fine thread ( from memory ) let me know how sucessfull you are.

When you need the penetrating oil look up "Ed's Red" basically 50% acetone and 50% ATF
