They did put jerry can holders on CMPs but this one is quite a bit different.

The Jerry Can Holder is correct for late model 15cwts as is the round roof hatch. I have a November 1944 C15A with this style holder and have seen it on other late model 15cwts. It is not a modification. The rear mudflaps are different from my truck. Mine are not angled and have no additional supporting brackets. The tool box on this truck is also representative of later models.
