I am not sure where or for what purpose this one was used, it looked like it had been on some kind of testing range.
I hope these are useful for someone, an angle on doesn't usually get to see. You will note it appears devoid of an engine and im sure all cavities are dry to prevent range pollution. R |

The CFR 67046 is painted on the back corner of the vehicle. The EDR viewer, along with a search in DRMIS, would likely give some or all of the history of the vehicle.
We started using DRMIS in KAF for the draw down (last 6 months) although we were using the older planex at the same time, so the data may well be double recorded if the vehicle remained in KAF right to the end. |

This one was located in "the vehicle dump" in Wainwright, it was uded for training for deployments, along with a very burnout LAV III. There were a few Leopard C1 tank turrets located there as well.

You can say that again. On his first tour my son was in a D & S Platoon escorting convoys in the RG. His Platoon hit several IEDs and wrote off a few RGs during that tour. No one was KIA, and only one person was sent home due to injuries. All the rest completed the full tour.
The RG in the photos doesn’t look like an IED victim. There are no signs of blast. It may have being the victim of a training accident. I’ve ordered and received the kit. It looks good but there are two errors. First the RWS comes with a .50 cal MG and not the C6. My son had trained with the .50 cal MGs in Valcartier, but they were not used in Afghanistan. More serious the coolant overflow tank is missing from the left fender. I have a question. There is an anti-slip surface on the engine hood and the left fender. Is it also on the right fender or is it omitted because of the tool rack? There is also anti-slip on the roof around the RWS. Dose it cover the entire roof or only the front portion? |

The kit is correct, they did mount the .50cal. It depends on which section took the truck. Not all had the coolant overflow as they were Mark III a's. The anti skid covered the whole hood and the right fender. Same as the crew pistol ports, some with, some without.
Shoot me a PM: I have a full walkaround. Anthony |

Here is the work on the interior. I know I’m not a professional model maker, but I try my best with the tools and supplies that I have.

Some more photos. I was intending to leave the rear door open, but my daughter's Corgi got her teeth into it so I had to glue it shut.

I made a few changes from the original kit. Some of the details of the kit’s interior match those of the American version of the RG. I changed the position of the fire extinguisher, added the “black box” and the spall liner and ballistic blanket. I also changed the detail under the rear seat. On the exterior I changed the antennas and added the ECM antenna. The kit came with a 50 cal MG. I replaced it with a 7.62 mm C6 mg borrowed from another kit. I also changed the clear windows of the kit for green tinted ones. Finally I added the storage, the cots, Gerry cans, razor wire. I also added the anti-slip texture to the upper surfaces of the vehicle.

That photo of the compound in KAF sure brings back some memories. I ran the heavy maintenance section in the first tent on the right of the photo. Photo is a bit earlier than my first tour of 2008 though, as by then the HESVs and the HLVWs were relegated to camp and FOB use with the introduction of the far, far superior AHSVS (Mercedes Actros)

Is that a Dutch tractor trailer unit with the temperate cam scheme and the 8 wheel LAV variant on the trailer?

Yes, it will be one of th units we leased until we could get the Actros into play. When I was there on my first contract we were sending back the Dutch equipment (or the remnants of it in some cases).
