The only variation I have seen to the CMP rifle brackets are that some have leather in the upper mount instead of the rubber coating. I have some of each NOS kicking around the shed. I also have a small stack of repro wooden sockets for the butts.

Interesting. I pulled a set of those rubberized bits out of a 1942 Ford 15cwt quite a few years back. I can't see anyone installing them in a civilianized vehicle after the fact?
