Default Parkerizing carrier parts

Any thoughts as to the use of Parkerizing during the assembly process to rust proof small parts bits and pieces used on the carriers and any other cmp's.
Its a simple process and could have been done on an industrial scale.
I want to parkerize all the bits of the steering and brake linkages and hardware on my MK I.
This was a era where smoking was cool, you could wash your hands in carbon tetra chloride and gun control meant hitting your target.
