I tried something. the NOS bearing from a 50 year old water pump kit , I managed to grind a small hole into it, I can now squeeze some wheel bearing grease in there and fill up the bearing with grease I used a tiny air powered grinder with carbide and diamond bits, the metal is very hard on this bearing
