Bob, Who owns that HUP you are attached to in the photo? Details! I need details!

Default You mean what is left of the HUP....

The frame and the black cab came from the "chicken farm" and will serve the Caldwells in finishing their own HUP...... it will serve best as a template for reproducing the floor plates and other components.... the rear of the black cab plus another cab may donate the complex compound curves of the rear corners and possibly the whole rear panel with door opening...but no door!!!

We could not verify the condition of the HUP frame but it is all there....

..... someone was heard saying that a "good body man" could fix it up in no time flat!!!!

Default Thanks so much for posting the video to youTube

Thanks Jordan for posting video, really makes me sorry I could not make it this year. Also sets me wondering how long it would take me to drive up in one of my CMPs for next year. Maybe if I left now I could make it.

Great video, particularly like the one with the rider on the running board. I usually find that about the time I hit 3rd gear they start looking worried.

Do I see a CC#? video ala YEAR OF THE BLITZ.

In case you did guess I really enjoyed the videos.

Cheers Phil

Jeff and Dan,

Good to hear that another HUP is on its way to restored glory. I do have one spare beat-up HUP door that could be used as a template.

Bob,

Thanks for the info. Maybe we will have time to restore the 43 HUP sitting in the wagon lines...from our wheel chairs...

Max sent me a few taken by Emma who I'm sure was pretending not to be interested...

I can see Skag and Stew whom I've met...

Although they weren't there long, Max, they were great ambassadors! After shows like Corowa though, I'm sure they were a little surprised at the small, low-key gathering here... but then that's the way of us! We're few and far between and tend to get together because of the companionship rather than simply having whole herds of vehicles in one place at one time... plus of course most of us can't afford the overhead to ship vehs hundreds of miles these days (a shame, that!). What can you do? It was a great time nonetheless!

I've finally gotten off my arse and ferreted out a few pics we took at CC7 this year. Captions as follows (and successive posts with more pics):

Pic 1: Jif, Don and Boob discussing some arcane nonsense, while Jon looks on in the background somewhat stunned...

Pic 2: Stewart's outstanding T-16, this year replete with a .50 M2HB with the mount fashioned after the famous (on MLU) pic of the Lake Sups' T-16 so-armed...

Pic 3: Jif explaining the vagaries of the .50 to young Spencer Caldwell, whose heart is in the right place...

Pic 4: Sally passing by in the T-16 at-speed... this was her first ride ever in tracked armour! The look on her face kind of captures the wonder...

Pic 5: The Herd spending the heat of the afternoon talking about all sorts of things... and who knows what really went on?

Stay tuned...

Default More Pics

Pic 6: Two M38CDN Jeeps parked where they always are every year here. They and their loads wend their way up from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) each year, no small undertaking in a vehicle which can barely make the speed limit empty, downhill with a tailwind!

Pic 7: Kathy Caldwell driving a CMP for the first time ever! She picked it up rather well and altogether too quickly, I'm sure to Jeff & Dan's discomforture...

Pic 8: Sally coming back from a high-speed romp in the 15cwt Chev... her first-time ever as well! The look on her face says everything...

Pic 9: An interesting 'military' Honda probably missed by most. OD rules!

Pic 10: Feeding time at the zoo. The Caldwells did an amazing job for the seventh year in a row! Kudos to all of them for a very professional effort.
