With fuel prices the way they are, the bigger toys don't seem to be attracting much attention. Seen cheaper Studies than these being ignored, Buyers market I think

The Chevy ute appears to be a standard 46-48 model , with a top chop. You can see how the front guards come into the door panels - and the 46 grill - or remains of. Although Norm Darwin quotes these utes as being built between 1941 and 44 .. and he even provides production figures ( he makes many weird statements in his books ). I or anybody else have never come across one from that period. There are examples from the post WW2 era around - reasonably common.
The 1941 canvas top version was fitted with a austerity body.. masonite over a wooden frame . Having said all that.. who knows .. it may actually be a rare WW2 built 42 ute .. if it is... it's a super unique car. Mike
