Default Cgt

Would that have been a 17-pdr tractor as per WHEELS & TRACKS photo? I wonder if there is a plate on it saying who rebuilt it?

David,

Itīs difficult to tell as the owner said "The back is a replica of what it is thought it would have looked like from the little info available."

Default Bodies

I can imagine that the rear body would be very similar after rebuild to the MCC 17-pdr conversions, from the Portees. Drawings are available. It is just poissble that the Para Museum might have something on the 17-pdr Chevies. The next question I have is how many did they convert, and what happened to them post-war? The answer to the latter is probably sold off as ideal for agricultural or forestry work, and quickly.
