G'day All, 1898 Rosemead BLVD South El Monte, I had a look at it through Google earth, I found it by looking for the shipping containers in the background LOL, big site with heaps of gear, cheers Dennis

Not just any old CMP, it's a Chevrolet HUP (you can see the side of it on Pic 7). Did you also see the 1/2 Ton Dodge Carryall, alongside the Ford GTB
It would be nice to see them saved and restored

You are right! I am now wondering if this is one of the ex-Bart Vanderveen HUPs? AFAIK, he sold one to a collector in the USA and I believe it was the American Society of Military History in El Monte, CA. They are an old (at least since the early 1960s) established, privately owned museum - see www.tankland.com. Something for our US members to look into.
