Default welcome to the club

Kevin

Well done,!! it's nice to see another carrier in the UK.

Where abouts are you located?

When do you expect to have her up and running?

regards

Barry

Hi, Richard to get it down the drive way I will just shackle it up and tow it with me 4x4, it rolls freely with the drivers drive shaft removed. You are welcome to come any time to take some pics and measure it up. I have looked at alot of carriers mostly canadian ones with the armour cut off in the uk, which have been restored with british armour put on. It seems most running carriers in the uk I have come across are canadian. was this to do with the lend lease ones being kept and the british ones being scrapped?. The armour on this is 100% original so is a good reference to measure up.

Barry, I am located in Lowestoft Suffolk the most easterly point in England. I plan to start work on this one straight away as the tank hunter hasent any corrosion so can wait whilst I stop the decay on this one by getting it stripped and blasted asap. Hope to get it ready for 2010. If you have any contacts in the uk barry who can assist let me know.

Default Get it running

Kevin

Was it easy to get past UK customes? If you don't mind telling us what it cost and how easy was it to ship over?

I have attached a picture of my carrier on Horseguards Parade in London last June. We were taking the salute from Prince Charles.

If you need help give me a call 07973624185

Kevin. cheapest quote i have so far is £1512 from Ontario to Liverpool, do you pay VAT on the purchase price or is it purchase price and freight ?

just need a cheap truck to bring it up the road from Liverpool (3 hour drive)

PS i wish Martyn would post up his build thread on here i was gobsmacked !! scratch building the whole carrier from nothing but a roll of tracks and a couple of wheels !

cheers

Richard

Default Snow problem!!

It would be good to see how Martyns getting on.
I saw him from a distance at Stoneleigh over the weekend, but never got to speak. Saw Nigel selling his books (great guy)

5 inchs of snow today in Watford, Nth London and everything stopped. No trains, no buses.
Thinking about getting the carrier out to help the local emergency services.

Or just sit on the internet.

Barry

yeah from reading up they were seriously poor on the snow (roads) in any case, some carriers had the modded tracks with the big teeth every so many links........
