Default Re engined blitz's

Drove a F60S with a 245 Dodge/Valiant Hemi engine and gearbox , needed the front extending to fit the unit in .
Very nice to drive .

Lot of Chev,s end up with the 53 onward 235 chev engine.
Regards
Jim S.

Other than popular types here in Europe like Bedford petrol and Perkins diesel engines (already mentioned), I know of at least two CMPs in Holland re-engined with the GMC 270 engine (as used in the CCKW series of trucks); one HUP and one C60S Wrecker.

Also a few Fords re-engined in France and Belgium with the "French Flathead" (postwar Ford V8) as used in the French SUMB MH600BS 1.5-ton 4x4 truck.

Hanno..
The C 60 X also had the GMC 270 installed right from the factory and well as the CMP armoured cars..

Alex...

I know . . . that´s why I specifically mentioned the fact that they are a re-engined HUP and C60S respectively . . .

Mind you, it has more to do with the availability of GMC engines here. A friend of mine restored a CGT and planned to put in a GMC 270 engine, but the Chev 216 proved to be in fine condition so he gave it a top end overhaul.
