Other than popular types here in Europe like Bedford petrol and Perkins diesel engines (already mentioned), I know of at least two CMPs in Holland re-engined with the GMC 270 engine (as used in the CCKW series of trucks); one HUP and one C60S Wrecker.
Also a few Fords re-engined in France and Belgium with the "French Flathead" (postwar Ford V8) as used in the French SUMB MH600BS 1.5-ton 4x4 truck. Hanno

A friend of mine restored a CGT and planned to put in a GMC 270 engine, but the Chev 216 proved to be in fine condition so he gave it a top end overhaul. H.

I saw a chev in Victoria at a sawmill with a 6 cylinder austin fitted, used to lift logs
also what about the chev the c15 that Herb owns at Mt Isa, I think he uses a isuzu diesel Max Last edited by Max Hedges; 18-04-09 at 00:56. |
