And what ever made that big hole in the roof wouldn't have done the driver much good either. Maybe he was outside making a pit stop at the time.

The first engine I purchased for installation in my F8 was a 1940 (flathead of course!) one. Both it and the tranny were the "Ford" green.

Hi Terry
My FORD F60 has a canvas gaiter Fits under a squarish plate on Engine rear cover. Then tapers up to fit around gear stick. The top of the gaiter is not stiched all the way up instead it has a push stud onto a button to close off gap. Allows for easier removal. Also pic attached shows a none standard rubber boot on the gear shift lever used that till i got canvas fitted.Pic 2 is not very clear but you may be able to zoom in If you need seperate pic of Item will do one for you next weekend ok of one off the vehicle ![]() |

Thanks for the info and Pics, Id like to see the fabric one better, I dont supose you made a template of one before you sewed it up ?
![]() I have fabric just need to know how to make it, Ive enclosed some pics of whats left of mine, cant really make out the stuff under the retainer but my best guess is a rotten type rubber or fabric. Also attached are pics of the Mac's pedal plates and pads pretty fancy for a 1942 truck ! ![]() Pics attached
