Great find and great project!

I am surprised to see a yellow dash housing.....my C8 has a yellow dash as well. Am I missing something.....Just a coincidence? Or did Chevrolet use a run of yellow dash housings back in 1940?

Alex

Dash photos...

Not sure where to check on the block for the serial #. Is there a frame # stamped somewhere as well?

Default Congrats.......

..... I hope it included the assembly manual.......hahaha !!!

If I can be of any assistance... mine is a C15a but I took mega pictures during the disassembly........ and Phil has quite the repertoire also....

I wonder what David Hayward can tell us about the manufacturing date by referencing the engine and body serial numbers.......

Good luck and keep the pictures coming.....

Default Serial number ?

Interesting truck. My 1940 C-15 Has a serial number of 0842109189, about eight thousand higher than yours. The interesting thing is my engine number,2789696 is very close to your number of 2789612. I wish my truck was in as good a condition as your truck is.

Default For the owner of the cab 11.......

.... you might want to have a look at the one for sale in Sussex NB..... as a model to help in the re-assembly........

Guy

Take it from me.... you cannot rebuild a CMP with only one truck.....

.... you will need parts and above all a truck to crawl under to see how the parts fit together........ manuals will also be of great assistance.... so will some valium or on the coast theuse Keith's......

....but nothing compares to having a spare truck to look at....practice on... and salvage that wierd part the teenagers at Canadian Tire can't find in the computer.

If I can be of any assistance just drop a line.
