G'day All, Well thanks for that Keith, as I was 24 hours out from heading over that way, I was planning on leaving tomorrow evening around 1630hrs and driving Sth down past Goulbourn and pulling in off the road to sleep and make my way up to Rugby Thursday, anyway I knew that they had stated 'sell them all including spares' but I was going to try my luck, anyway we are not going anywhere now cheers Dennis

A couple of familiar shapes
![]() There is another radiator on the left out of shot. The door has had something welded to the top of it. ![]() One of these front shells has holes cut in each side for a racy exhaust. ![]() Nice pile 'o parts ![]() There are a lot of 16" wheels - here's the remains of an original Canadian tyre... ![]() And the F15 chassis it may well have come from. Yes, that's an Aussie toolbox too. ![]() Inside there are lots of grouped parts in the shed.

The familiar shapes shot didn't work. Oh... yes it did - just hadn't loaded!
And an interesting magneto to fit a sidevalve V8 in working condition. ![]() This is what gave me the clue about the ambulance. The other tank is still on the truck. ![]() The clutch department. ![]()

Here's the other fuel tank.
![]() The interior of the 6X6. Note the neatly fabricated engine doghouse. ![]() And good to see he's preserved the stenciling from the ambulance. ![]() This is the engine installation on the shortened truck with 20" wheels: ![]() And this is the interior of the F15A. Both this and the crane were sunshine roofs. ![]()

Oh yes!
What I didn't mention was it was a morning of discovery. Just south of Young there is a batch of four Chevs on a farm visible from the road, then coming into Boorowa there's an ex-RAAF Chev crane still in use and next to it the remains of two C15s, and another blitz on a hill on the way to Rugby. So if you count the chassis, there were 14 new discoveries. That doesn't happen often in one day. ![]() ![]()

It looks like it's had a mounting bolt ear broken off, but might still be useful. When you've bought the lot Keith, I'll have a word to you about this! |

The tyre's a 10.50-16, so is more likely to have been an original on the Ambulance than an F15.

I can see the headlines now:
"I picked up a case of Crabs on the Rugby trip" (Unfortunately, that's too close to the real headlines these days! ![]() |
