Chris,
Well, the axles and chassis seem to be modified Ford Units as well and the engine is a Mercedes unit according to the Ebay auction. So, an explanation could be that the people behind UNIMOG used surplus military material to build their first prototype Farm tractor. But, why didn't they change the driving position from right to left.....hmmm, maybe it's got nothing to do with UNIMOG after all......the NATO indicator on the sides also point towards a later modification; First UNIMOG was from 1947(?)
