Default Good example of wartime make - do.....

Certainly worth restoring and keeping the original GM axles...... quite common to see a GM Heavy Duty cast front axle with a regular Ford split axle on the rear.

When you have a look again ...see if the front axle has a bolted cover on the axle or cast in one piece with heavy reinforcement ribs near the spring perch.

Strange to see Ford shock absorbers attched to GM axles.....

That Ford truck has exceptionally good sheet metal......
