It sounds to me like you guys want a dedicated register, like with Jeeps on G503.
......Hanno!!!

Default Lynn ...my man

Lynn: Nice to hear from you. In respect to the amount of 60CWT's made as well as all the other CMP variants and how few are left today....maybe not a bad idea. Still no steering wheel .....Robert

I hear you..... Personally I have spent a large portion of my life on compiling the Sherman Register. I stopped actively compiling when the tally reached 1,000 records. That was around the time when the Internet kicked in, and much more information became available. Keeping my register up to date would have meant it would really become a day time job.

All I am trying to say is that what Phil is suggesting takes a heck of a lot of time. But be my guest, MLU is the platform to share such information!

Here are a couple of examples for those interested in compiling the "Surviving CMPs Register":
  • Dutchmen Hendrik van Oorspronk and Jakob Oud started making a list of Dutch CMPs a couple of years ago, I helped by putting the pictures online and putting updates on MLU.
  • I also made web pages on the Fox and C15TA, listing the survivors I knew of at the time of publication.
HTH,
Hanno

Default Amazing what you'll find...

Hey Hanno: Been working on stencils and markings for the C60L. Going through the shelf of books and binders and came across a binder called CMP INFODEX by Peter J Ford of Canada. Published back in the 80's from what I can see. Ever heard of it? Robert

Hi Robert,

Yes of course, Peter Ford's CMP INFOEX! I have just merged some older threads on this subject. No, I have never seen it but would love to.

Hanno

And of course we should not forget the Canadian Register, the register of surviving Canadian ex-military vehicles, currently with 242 records in their database - see http://www.canadianregister.co.uk.

Default I wasn't trying to suggest a registar only a Snap shot

Hi All

My aim was a much less grant effort than a full registry besides why duplicate the current web effort. That has been done, as Hanno comments and requires a great deal of work as the efforts of people like John Merchants, Work Play with Ex-Military Vehicles, or Peter Ford's Infoex, or web based Canadian Register http://www.canadianregister.co.uk/index.html has shown. These efforts have collected a great deal of information.

What I was trying to suggesting was a much more modest Snap Shot of MLU readers about what we currently have out there running around in 2012.

Cheers Phil

Ah, you mean more like a "Me & my truck(s)" type of introduction.
