So I suppose whoever purchased same is now looking for a manual.......
This was not one of the Australian M548 cargo carriers. My guess is a Combat Vehicles import ex-UK. Do any of our UK readers recognise the serial number? Mike C |

Unfortunately Alex, It's not me but I would have liked to have done one of them up. I don't know who or where it has gone but perhaps CJ may enlighten us.

They are a handy little rig..especially in snow or 'roo poo.... I think originally they were designed to haul ammo in Vietnam.. M 548 / M1015 (1965) The US M548 tracked cargo carrier is an un armoured, air-portable, amphibious tracked vehicle with an open-topped cargo compartment. It belongs to the 113 family. In 1982, M548A1 production replaced the earlier model. The M548A1 had improved suspension and cooling system. The M548s had cooling system problems. Length: 5750 width: 2680 height: 2680 mm

Indeed, one of the interested parties from this forum will be taking ownership of the M548. A big thank you to everyone for their information and help with this unit. I won't name names, but I am hoping that they will be posting the before, after and progress photos of the unit down the track. Cheers, CJ |

I have it on good authority that this vehicle has been earmarked for preservation by an ex member of the RAAC and destined to join the collection of a well known Sydney based Army museum.
Cheers Phill
