Very rare WW2 Chevrolet 17pr gun tractor. I believe that only 8 of these were built in 1944, being converted from the 2pr portee that was by then obsolete.Originally built in 1941.
The conversion involved removing the tilting body and fitting a fixed one and also fitting the chassis mounted PTO winch as fitted to other Chev Gun tractors. there are very few references on the net to this type of truck the nearest I can find is in Australia.
85% restored all the woodwork is new,all the chassis and running gear have been cleaned and painted engine rebuilt,new 12 X 20 tyres,completely rewired, new canvas. The engine starts and ticks over but needs a tune up as it runs rough.The brakes will need overhauling.

We've seen it before, go to the top of this page. It was for sale on ebay October last year (seller cpajma ended the auction with bidding standing at £3,700.00 with the reserve price not met), before that it was for sale in 2008.

1943 - 46 Chevrolet Army truck, Built originally for the British Army, it is R/H/D, as you can see its in original condition and could either be used as it is or re-painted etc to smarten it up, it was fitted with a Perkins diesel engine approx. 50 years ago, the engine is unbelievable, it starts instantly every time, the cab really needs some repairs, new metal letting in etc, but it has been in use this year as it is, it is mot and tax exempt.
I am the first to admit that I know nothing about these vehicles, im not even sure of the model (maybe someone could tell me) it looks loads of fun though and would be great for taking to rallies/re-enactments etc etc (if you are quick there is a big one at Pickering in Yorkshire this weekend)
Runs and drives, we can deliver at extra cost, comes with v5, registration number is DJU 354 and the current tax disc is here.
The v5 states a registration date of 24/06/1946 but the previous owner told me it was manufactured in 1943.
The winning bidder must pay a £250 deposit immediately after the auction ends, the balance must then be received within 5 days

Forgot to mention, the truck has a huge winch mounted to the chassis near the rear axle (see new pics) It also still has the machine gun turret visible on the roof, the interior pic shows the engine cover missing but we do have that.

After another round on Ebay it's back for sale on MilWeb, now properly listed as a Cab 12. Looks rather smart.

Had full restoration just finishing small thing off like top screen canvas and the door canvas which have been ordered and will be fitted if anybody bought her.
Has Chevy 216 straight 6 petrol engine and big chassis winch.
These were design as a 2 Pounder Portee but some were converted to be used for the 17 pdr gun.
Has new tyres and is freshly painted and Mickey Mouse camo.
Also div signs are new.

1943 Chevrolet C8A Wireless Truck
Age has caught up with me and the time has come to offer my very original Chevrolet Wireless truck for sale. It has done less than 10,000 miles from new. As far as I can tell it was never issued and was released from the MoD in 1947 with 500 miles on the clock. It was privately owned before being purchased by a military vehicle museum, from where I bought it 21 years ago.

The vehicle is right-hand drive with a beautiful wooden steering wheel. It comes with its four original, 1942-dated, part-worn, run-flat tyres plus one good spare. The original tyres were replaced with bar-tread tyres which are in excellent condition. The truck is equipped with a No.19 radio set, original operator’s head-set, antennae, a set of snow chains (unused), jack, starting handle, radiator muff, stainless steel exhaust, shovel, original 1942-dated detailed maintenance manual and a modern towing bar.
