I believe it went through the proper process.

The Scout did get all the appropriate approval before it left Australia, including the movable cultural heritage approval. As Mike has said it's better to get it done correctly first. Colin is also correct in that transport can get expensive, there are better prospect carriers available for more realistic money.

Expensive at that price now that I have sat and studied the pics.... IMHO I would offer around 4500 - 5000 (which would get rejected)

Call me cynical but I detect some sour grapes from fellow MLUers.

It's not as if the Scout wasn't openly offered to all the main Australian armour collectors and Museums...

Every aspect of it's export was fully compliant with Australian Law. I would think twice before committing opinion to public forum in future...

That is all

Regards

Phill

Come on lads keep it nice......

Anyho that was a British carrier being recovered

Have you had any luck yet Paul ? Took me over a year to locate mine, then a year to battle weather and get it home...... Then so far four years to get it back to where it is....... There is a mk2 for sale in the Netherlands on milweb check it out... Might be nearer your budget, and easier to get home.

I see four carriers for sale on Milweb. A project at £8000 + and three restored at $45000 US and £50000 and £65000 GBP. Ron

Ive got a few irons in the fire at moment.
The one in Oz was a good prospect, but judging by what ive been told its a bit of a dog for ther price and hassle of getting it here!
Worth it at half the price as it would cost the same again to get it here! might be a go if price reduced, got to make some calls!
The one in Netherlands has a lot of problems, and bits missing that hard to find. Whats with the shiney rivets in the armour?? New rivets or coach bolts??
Could be an armoured money pit, especially with stripped lump, like to do my own and see what im playing with!
Waiting for the thumbs up on a few being brought in, rough, not so rough and good condition! Been told these are a better option as not got taxes and transport to worry bout getting them here.
Will fit on the 71/2 tonne recovery truck also so a nice jolly jaunt out for the day and its mine!
Got two on south coast im working on too! Belong to a trust and trying to convince them that they would look better in my "trust"
One was a runner a few years ago and other they were keeping as spares, in my book no such thing as a "spares" carrier!

They sound familiar, if it is where I think it is, they are reluctant to sell anything. Have you seen them?
