I tried too, dealing with cgd, boarder and foreign affairs/international trade. Boarder didn't care after talking to them, cgd said they didn't have any issue, but FAIT said no go without registering with controlled goods. I found a smoking great deal on an m20, but gave up after nauseating conversations for over 2 weeks with FAIT. The problem I have found in the past is not one person you talk to will have the same answer as the other. I talked to very high up at FAIT and said why do they have a problem when CGD and boarder didnt, he said they should and must be misinformed. He said I could try importing it but at some point he FAIT would be involved and stop importing. I have since lobbied my neighbor cpc Peter Van Loan, and at the time CGD head Rona Ambrose about this sillyness on old armor and they both told me the Government sees the issue and will be changing it, but not in the near future.

A gentleman from Canada I know has imported armor from the states (HAC MKIV) and is also getting ready to import more toys from the UK.

Controlled goods is for bureaucrats, not people with intelligence who can make a decision.
