I have had a better look at a couple of my APCBC rounds and you are quite right ,it would seem the tin nose is missing.
They are only crimped on so I should think it wouldn't take much to knock one off !

Default Artillery tools wanted..

Any of you guys here in Canada have any of the 17/25 pdr. tools collecting dust that you would like to move on? All should have the OS/CM scripted numbers. Keys for No. 9 dial sight/keys/ drifts/cover muzzle/cover breech/ lamps/ etc... Looking to fill the 17 pdr. tools roll. Thanks Rob

I have a spare of the handspike 7ft mk2 (pn E3/EC0551) and some spares of the quick release tool for when doing drawbacks of the recoil mech. Neither will fit in your pouches, but I believe both are applicable to the 17 pdr as they were pretty standard amongst most of the Brit artillery, and are still in use today in the CF.

I will have to find it but cant remember where it is just for info the short chain in the spares diagram above (no28) are still available as it seems they were used for post war recovery.
