I would argue to the contrary. I'm still quite happy with moderators decision.

I'll echo that. He had nothing to really offer to the board, and was wiling to pass insult into out of bound areas.

I did find it a bit of a "where's Waldo" game as he would sneak back onto the forum under various new identities. Between his atrocious but consistent spelling, and his poor form of humour, he was never hard to spot.

Gents,

What's that round thing just left and above the spare roadwheel on the frontal armour ?

To my eyes it looks like a Ford CMP horn.

Is it original equipment ?

A nice evening and a polite thanks .

The earliest carriers used a British horn. Later they went to the CMP Cdn style. My manual isn't here, but it was dropped after a certain serial number. The horn is normally an indicator of an early carrier.

Default Carrier horn

Many thanks Rob, i did not know this interesting bit of information.

My Carrier is a late 1944 No 2 Mk 2 and i found no trace of it .

It would be a nice add on for safety's sake and for signaling the driver's intentions .

A Canadian hooter came my way and rightly or wrongly I fitted it anyway. But I left it a different colour.....as if it was an 'add on'. Ron

Don't miss Mike at all, banned from MLU, banned from the commonwealth tank page on FB for his aggressive and unpredictable behaviour. As for the carrier take what you see with a pinch of salt, each to their own and all that can't mock the guy for his enthusiasm but accuracy was not his strongest suit.

No doubt I will get hate mail again.

I am a firm believer you are who you hang with....

Mid to late war carriers have no horn, no brake light, no reflectors or corner lamps, no turn signals and a p*ss poor rear view mirror. What were they thinking????

Cutting costs on items which get damaged in the field anyway?!?
