Default Carrier spotted by my mum!

Hello,
Got an email from my dear old mother in NZ who spotted this item in the little beach community she lives in....wondered if I wanted her to ask about an offer for it!

Gidday,

Your dear old mum wouldn't happen to live in Oamaru would she?

Cheers

Default Hi Daryll

Its up the road from you at Oamaru, a Mortar carrier. The floor is all broken at the back, and the price is somewhere around the $20,000.00 plus area as I understand it. I took a few photos of it in may this year if anyone wants to see more.
It has an interesting mod. The exhausts exited out the sides (the Tekapo modification) to prevent causing tussock fires.

Hi Lynn

Yeah, I thought it was the Oamaru one. I hear that various people have tried to buy it over the years without success. $20,000 sounds rather steep based on the picture. From what I hear it sits out in the weather like this all year round. You haven't been tempted to make an offer?

Cheers

Darryl

Thumbs up

Hi all - never mind about the Carrier, what about a word for Mum. Everybody should have a Mum like this. With her eye she can come on field trips with Ada and myself anytime.

Bob

Of course you are right. I'd post a pic. of Chris G's Mum, if I had one, but as I haven't, so I'll put up a couple more of the carrier.

Hello,
Yep she lives near Oamaru, NZ and was actually in Melbourne earlier this year and came up to meet up with my partner Jean and I at Corowa, she had a great time!
Shame about the carrier in the weather. Im sure it will eventually find a workshop/restorer.
Cheers!
