Thanks Hanno
What stands out is the speaker . It is a speaker from the artillery battery telephone set , they had a speaker unit at each gun, the instructions came from the base unit . These speakers were carried two clipped together . I had quite a few of them plus the base unit . They were not meant to be used with a No. 11 set or any wireless set . The speaker had a button on top, you pressed the button and spoke back to the main unit , it was a two way setup.

The 1A2 bodies on the F8 and C8 don't have that storage space at the floor to the right of the operator's foot.

I like the operator's thumb on the big white 11 set send/receive lever.

Hanno it looks exactly right for a British PU to me. The storage space by the operators right foot is actually three pockets to store 'satchel Signals' You can also see the 'Switchboard charching No1' behind his left shoulder. Ron

some images of the speaker in that fantastic image.
as Mike said they weren't designed to be used with our sets but mine works fine with my ZC1. Looks good and gives the gear a bit more impact when at public displays. I missed out on a 2nd one a few month back. It would have been great to have a pair as they would protect one another when clipped togeather for storage/transit. |

Yes that's the one. The examples I had, were all painted with the post war DBG like yours has, the wartime brownie paint was visible in patches underneath . I must have had a dozen of them , I still have a control unit somewhere with its Niphan battery connectors and the carbon mic. re: the C8 and F8 FFW , I am sure they had those satchel storage things down along the floor , following the British prototype. I have a pic somewhere.

On the C8 and F8 the body wall by your feet was straight and didn't have that recess where the satchels go. The early units didn't put the satchels there but the later ones did. They just stuck out more.

Hi David
I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing but I found this pic of a F8 FFW . It has the canvas satchel storage , I think the storage area was made from plywood .

Mike, here's the drawing from the parts list. They're tacked onto the side of the body and not in a recess like the Morris.
Those connectors I got from you aren't for the remote. That's the aerial lead that goes to the aerial coupling unit. I needed them too.

The Morris satchel pockets are the same as in those pictures and made from plywood tacked onto the body. The back of the pockets is actually the inside of the flat metal wheel arch. I always thought that these 8cwt PU bodies were all more or less the same. Ron
