Well after a busy summer with no time to research anything, I posted my photo's here looking for answers to my tool kit questions but after logging onto the G503 website forum yesterday, found a whole thread dedicated to WWII jeep tool information. There were all the answers to my questions and more.
http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=103612 Looks like some of my tools are right and some I still have to find. And the search continues! Regards,Derk

I picked up an EAGLE oil can at the MVPA convention but seems sloppy in the oil can holder on the firewall of the jeep. It may not be the proper one or my reproduction oil can holder may be out?
Hi Derk, Its probably the oil can, that's not a correct one for your Jeep. I have seen that you have come across the tool list on the G503. This will be you friend. Dave |

Hi Dave,
Yes it turns out that my oil can is 1/4'' smaller than the correct oil can for the jeep. I will have to look closer at the next one I come across to not make the same mistake again. I hope to make it to the 2017 MVPA convention this year to find a few of the tools and items I am still missing for my tool kit list. The convention is in Cleveland,Ohio and only 18 hours 37 minutes (1,954 kms) drive from my place so nice and close. After I posted my tools here I had time to do some more searching and came across the G503 post on proper WWII tools for the jeep and that answered all my questions and more! Regards,Derk

Thanks Frank, another thing to look for when trying to find a proper oil can for my jeep. Was going to go to the MVPA convention this year and even had Rob on board but I want to build a shop this summer so decided to stick close to home and concentrate on saving for it instead.
Regards,Derk

Rob,
I plan for a 30 x 40 foot shop. That's the largest I can build on the property without getting a variance. If the shop isn't big enough to store all of my projects then I will just have to get rid of some of them! I picked up this set of pliars a week ago. G503 lists the manufacturer as wartime but CeeTee Jamestown,NY and mine are simply CeeTeeCo CRESCENT USA. Not sure what the difference is there. Possibly changed the stampings after the war? Derk
