Dont know if you have seen this, but some useful reference pictures. The Lucas 160 wing mirrors are still available over here in repro form - at an eye-watering price!

Hi Simon and thanks for the info and link. I have got my mirrors as they are available here in Australia as well and I think they were about $70aud off memory. I am having trouble finding the large spot light as they have a specific shape and I need to find the same if possible. I will post a picture with the hope that someone may know what type and brand of light it is.

Does anyone recognize this type of light. This is the one that is on the turret of the Vickers and I just can't seem to find any reference as to its brand. I'm sure it would have been a common one of the day (1936) and my turrets just won't look right without the same or at the very least a similar style of light.

Further to Richard's remark, I have seen a square style of searchlight on Vickers light tanks, too. So, and alternative may be the post-war light as currently offered in Tim Vibert, see http://milweb.net/classifieds/view_l...ad=91660&cat=8 That could give you a period looking light, at least until you find a better one? The Simms spotlights are still to be found in the UK. They were used on Matilda and armoured cars as well. regards, Richard

It is a Simms type 6AIB and the original army number was LV6MT3/SS/6AIB you could try Mike Stallwood (RR Services) or Richard Banister Richard

Adrian, fantastic and I will look forward to see the photos.
I am making good progress on the MG housing. The curved section was a heavy walled hydraulic cylinder with an almost correct dia but with some modification to make it look like the original part with rivets. |
