Here is a good photo but unfortunately it is the right vehicle but an Australian built Holdens body. It looks like the well known restored Cinema Unit No 71 is the wrong model (car based van instead of the truck based original vehicle).

Here are a couple more of the truck based ones.

Lang, again not the type you're after, but maybe of interest anyway.....

It seems the Fleetmasters guys in Belgium had at least one of the 1,5ton examples at one time

Thanks, Mike

If the restored one had been marked with Photographic Unit instead of Mobile Cinema Unit 71 it would have been spot-on.

Nice clear footage of the vehicle.

Default RAF Colours

Dear All,

I want to mention to Hanno, that the gloss black fenders on RAF vehicles was actually used pre-war by the RAF so the RCAF panel van posted above is quite possible to be blue and black in the pre-war period.

The colour scheme may be seen on the RAF Museum Fordson Sussex balloon winch and on a few other vehicles. Its a subject I'm studying and at a guess the two colour scheme may have been considered for use by the AM but delayed until post war.

See attached from the 'Stilltime' collection

Default To chrome or not to chrome

I am restoring a 1941 11T ford truck and have aquired others as spares.
Some of the diecast trim items on the bonnet were chromed and painted all over with red undedrcoat then top colour , others are painted raw diecast.
Some grilles and side panels have holes for trim strips , some have only partial holes and the later ones have no holes at all.
All these bits are from 11T model trucks.
