Hey guys,
I found a storage chest of water browser in a barn in the Netherlands. The man where I found them said that he had received them from a farmer where such a water browser had probably stayed behind in the war or just after it. Greetings Guy |

hey guys
An update of the works here at the water bowser. First some pictures of the 2nd skid plate that was on the gas tank. These are now used as anti-skid plate to descend into the lubrication wells. And further the situation up to now. Cheers Guy |

Just wondering why the CMP water tanks appear to have UK made filters fitted. I'm still looking for a loan of a filter to measure up and hopefully make up a repro version as in those pics, aluminium is a good choice I think, although its not cheap .

the filter that can be seen on the photo is made out of 3 parts. the conical part is in a tube the top can also be placed in the tube. The nice thing about the whole thing is that water can be pumped through it the tube is 300 mm long and 160 mm diameter but can be shortened. I think the diameter is slightly larger 150mm might be better but I do not have a tube of that size, the other pieces can be found in the appendix. if these are correct I do not know but the whole gives a nice look |

Thanks for the drawings
I guess some CMP chassis were retrofitted with British bodies ( the 200 gallon water tank ? ) and various other British equipment . Thompson Brothers in the UK seemed to make the tanks for many applications both civilian and military. Update on the postwar filters. The attached sketches are from the 1954 handbook for the 200 gallon water tank. The filters are clearly quite different (and larger) than the picture Guy posted. For an idea of size, there is a picture of a postwar filter installed on a 100 gallon water trailer here (2nd posting, 3rd picture):
http://hmvf.co.uk/topic/14759-britis...tank-trailers/ So, my working theory is that the one in Guy's picture is 'late WW2'. At least until someone can confirm otherwise. ![]() Owen.
