Heres a couple photos of 54-82589s fuel tank...it differs from any I've seen before...mainly it is rivited with copper rivits and lead soldered...all others I've seen were welded
seams....prototype or just a different manufacturer? We may never know.... |

Based on the date on the data plate it appears to be a very early production tank. They may have simplified their manufacture during production including changing the shape slightly.

Hello and thank you Russell for your reply...im so happy that i was able to send photos...!!! I learned something today...success i hope....my ferret is a 1954 ex canadian...may be the original fuel tank.....ive seen many tanks but not this type.thanks again...
