Hello
Thank you to Brian and Wayne for your measurements. This is indeed the M37 Fender mount which is also part of the National Survival kit. It was also intended to be used on other vehicles, when the National Survival kit was used. Rob, so far no mirror shake. As there is a radio antenna bracket located on the fender there is a re-enforcement plate on top and bottom. I added a bottom plate to the passenger side as well. I made up a paper mock-up of the C42 bracket at it seems to fit nicely other than the mirror arm needing some adjustment. If I go this route I know who to look for. I wonder if this should be move to the restoration page now? Thanks Eric
