I'm back with another question. I am installing the rear tool plate ,rear deck, and fender extensions on a MKII . The deck plate was gone and the tool plate and fenders were not assembled when I got the carrier. So, I put the tool plate in position with an angle iron across the top and go to install the rear fender extensions ( I don't have my parts book handy so can not give the proper name). All the holes line up great, except the 2 holes that hold the extensions to the tool plate. There is about a 1" gap between the two. Why? There is no way that I can adjust them to fit. It is like there should be something in between the two. I will include a pic or two so you can see what I mean.

Your images of the rear fender gap issue you wrote about. Once you have the Stacey attachment properly mounted on the original cast brackets, then fit the large stowage box, CTL 14297, it will be an outstanding No. 2 Mk. II*.
Have a look at the RCAF image of the No. 2 Mk. II* with the pintle attached directly to the pioneer plate. Thank you Lynn E. for the image. A cost effective way to mount the pintle until Kevin casts the brackets. M. Last edited by Michael R.; 24-06-12 at 18:27. |

Here is a picture of an original carrier that has a wood spacer installed as I am not sure that all MK2's had the Stacey attachment and I don't think that they would have made two different rear fenders. Sorry it is the best shot I have of the rear section.
