That's nice to find, I used my M101 trailer to haul my Mule to some of the shows.

Default LSVW and M101CDN

That is a slick combination as well. Nothing illustrates CAF frugality better then a 1950s trailer hitched to a 1990s truck with a 1970s van body.

Default LSVW box

Got a box off a LSVW yesterday . It took about an hour to get the nuts off . They were rusted . Had to cut a bolt or two . Lifted it off the truck with a solid fork lift and voilà ! From what i have been reading off of Rob Love ´s CUCV thread it’s corners are rounded and that’s correct . Those are the boxes that were retained and refurbished by CORCAN . Now comes the question : To install the box on my frame or not ? I have a cargo box with security cage now . Pros & Cons . Thanks .

I guess it all depends what you want to use it for. I use mine as a camper for doing long distance club events.

In the 70s I saw a trailer that the 12eRBC had set up as the CO (or OCs) accommodations in the field. It was a 3/4t SMP trailer with no external distinctions, but there was a bed, flooring, a table and maybe some storage under the tarp. The Sgt giving us the tour in the compound explained simply that if the CO gets too tired, he stops making good decisions for the rest of the unit. And that is when the problems happen.

From my perspective, it is about preserving history, not altering it. The story behind these office LSVWs is that the 20-year-old office bodies were removed from the Chevrolets, refurbished by CORCAN, and installed on the new vehicles. Once you replace the body with something else, then that story is gone. Plus, with the office body, you can reequip it with all of the things it would have once held. Even using the office as a camper is a good solution as it still preserves the integrity of the vehicle.
