"The Antiquary"! You're a lucky man! I can smell the burning peat from here. I hope the Pipe Major not only had on his kilt and sporran, but like a proper Scotsman, had his dirk secreted upon his body.
They say a true aficiando of "usquebaugh" can tell where it was distilled by it's smokiness. I can only aspire to such knowledge. And, yes, when it comes to whiskey, NEATness counts! I do however enjoy a fine cigar alongside a dram of usquebaugh, the two go hand-in-hand so well. Try this if you haven't already...dip the non-lit end of a really good cigar in your glass of whiskey periodically as you smoke it. The taste is truly sublime!...and if you happen to have a little haggis to complement the other two...............
