A container floats if it is empty and not leaky in the doors.
A 20 fot container wights ap 2500 kilos.
To make 2500 kilos float, it must have a volume larger than 2,5 cubik meters.
A quick math in my head (and do not trust it too much..) says a 20 fot container is ap. 40 cubick meters. So it can contain almost 37,5 tonns of cargo and even float, but it must be water tight...
And then again, the temperature in the water is of importance as is the salt in the water.
Well this was todays lecture :-)
But it must be no leacks!!
