If that gets to be too much for you, hop across the border into Burkina Faso and sample Ouagadougou (mispronounced as "wag the dog"???).
Or you can hop the other way into Mauritania and Senegal (if the dates are right) and watch all the crazies of the Dakar Rally zoom by in a cloud of dust.
