Hi Again
I assume that the no-show of the pic was due to the fact that the site probably doesn't allow linking of their pics to other internet sites. Not un-common. Here's the direct link to the pic I wanted to put up: http://www.rcaf.com/6group/419Nosear...hrexpress.html "Ruhr Express" was in 419 Sqn. Also the Nanton Lancaster Museum in Alberta has a "Nose Art " section on their site: http://www.lancastermuseum.ca/noseart.html Worth noting s the UK's stance on Nose Art in their modern PC world: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...icle_id=460054 Not that it's likely to be allowed here in our Military!! I cannot ever recall seeing a modern Cdn a/c with female-oriented nose art. ![]() regards Darrell |

This is a Canadian build Lancaster Mk X, with 419 Squadron, KB 721, VR-B, Baker. The nose art is Linden Rose. I do not know why it is referred to as Linden Rose. Dad flew this aircraft from December 1944-February, 1945. Note that the plane under the bomb-bay doors is NA-P (428 or Ghost Squadron). It is now in the Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
My Father, Flt/Lt. HHM Cave, was the brother of Lt. JRD Cave, with the 23rd Field Regiment, (Self-Propelled). |

The Lancaster Museum link has Snowy Owls pics ... nice ... no Stu (Carruthers - the pilot. A Stanley White was his navigator. Stan passed away about 4 years ago I think it was) or Wanky Wonder pics though. ![]() http://www.lancastermuseum.ca/noseartrutledge.html |
