I have been told by a prospective buyer from The Netherlands, that this C15A has been sold to a collector in Belgium.

Attached goes some background on this vehicle from the former owner's booklet on CMPs.

Default Cgt

Would that have been a 17-pdr tractor as per WHEELS & TRACKS photo? I wonder if there is a plate on it saying who rebuilt it?

David,

It“s difficult to tell as the owner said "The back is a replica of what it is thought it would have looked like from the little info available."

Default Bodies

I can imagine that the rear body would be very similar after rebuild to the MCC 17-pdr conversions, from the Portees. Drawings are available. It is just poissble that the Para Museum might have something on the 17-pdr Chevies. The next question I have is how many did they convert, and what happened to them post-war? The answer to the latter is probably sold off as ideal for agricultural or forestry work, and quickly.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to this forum. The body on that C60S is not a military body, at least not one which was fitted to CMP trucks when they were manufactured.

HTH,
Hanno

This thread may give you some options on a body that you can use.

Hi Dave,

If that truck“s chassis & cab have been restored, engine & drivetrain overhauled, it certainly is worth 2K. Not if has only been blown over with a paint gun.

A body can be found with some effort or reproduced, there are plenty reference pictures and surviving examples to take measurements from.

Let us know if you are going to get it, I“m sure we can help you find the information you need.

Hanno
